Bio

Marika Staloch started in libraries when her passion for social justice got her involved in building a homework center at the Saint Paul Public Library as an Americorps VISTA in 2001. Since then she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching and taught four years, has run the STEPS overnight camp for girls to learn about science and technology, and then started her dream job of Youth Services Coordinator for the Saint Paul Public Library. In 2013, she helped develop the award-winning Read Brave program, an annual, citywide program encouraging youth and adults to read and come together around a young adult novel. Currently, you can find her dreaming big for Createch, Saint Paul's creative tinkering spaces for teens. She works toward providing hands-on experiences in libraries and in partner sites for the families of Saint Paul.
